HOLIDAY 2015

A huge thank you to all my 2015 clients for making this year the best one yet!  I had a blast capturing some stellar moments for you and your loved ones (kids, babies, and fur babies!).  It was extra special getting to do these sessions in our new home, and with so many familiar faces no less.

This is my 4th year of Holiday Sessions;  4 years ago, I was working part-time as a cashier at Thrifty's.  A friend had requested I do some family photos for her at the end of summer and it was then that I decided to quit my cashier position and try my hand at becoming a photographer.  These Holiday Sessions were my very first gig as part of a Fundraiser at my kids' preschool, the gig that started them all!  I've come a long way and I have learned so very very much!  A couple of you have been a part of these Holiday Sessions since the beginning and for that, I truly truly thank you for your faith and support each year!  Many of you I have known for years, some a lifetime, and still others whom I am just getting to know.  The best part of my job is becoming part of your life, not just documenting you and your loved ones' physical existence at a specific moment in time, and not just capturing a pretty picture to share on social media, but capturing your joy and your spirit.  I want my photos to be your favourite photos, the ones that you look back on time and time again as the years go by and we all get a little wiser; the ones that make you smile without fail because the feelings keep rushing back.  I do my best to do for you what I do for myself with my family.  In fact, many of you may as well be my family at this point, HA!  Time to wrap up here...

It was really difficult to choose just one photo from each session (seriously, it's taken me 2 days of editing a few different photos and changing my mind a million times…) but here they are in order from first to last!  Hugo gets two because his peacock walk is the perfect way to end this hahahha

I LOVE ALL OF YOU!
THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE HOLIDAY SESSION!

XO

Our Holiday 2014 Families

After our brief hiatus from updating the blog, I've got a lot of catching up to do here!  Better late than never may I present to you the families of Holiday 2014!

What a very memorable year it has been.  Thank you to all my lovely friends for being a part of this year's Holiday photos, I am so very lucky to have clients I can call friends!

Holiday 2014

It is hard to believe that another year has already passed and that we are on the verge of 2015!  It feels like only a few months ago I was posting Happy New Year 2014 and making plans to step back and spend a little more time with family after a very intense and busy year.

I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with how 2014 panned out!  As Spring approached, our family of 4 found out it would be welcoming an additional member by the year's end (…with only 5 more weeks to go!...), so the decision to step back was rather serendipitous!  I must have done something right within the first year of getting The Pauhaus out in the public because I continued to have a steady flow of clients (both new and returning) without any promoting!  It was the perfect amount for me throughout my pregnancy and it was indeed very encouraging.

Our Holiday Sessions were no exception.  Not entirely sure of what my physical state would be in the last weeks of my pregnancy, I held back on promoting.  As these sessions are high in demand, I did not want to risk cancelling last minute.  This year's sessions were entirely filled with a handful of clients that inquired and requested in advance with the awareness that they might be cancelled.  The decision to go forth was not made until the weekend before they would take place and I would like to give a very warm and sincere Thank You to all the clients that were so flexible and understanding!

We left last year's playful light blue for a deeper and richer winter night blue and adorned it with a customized Peace sign wreath, beautifully composed by my good friends Erin + Kerstyn at OLFCO (Our Little Flower Company).  It seems our Holiday Sessions just won't be the same without something fresh, unique and seasonally aromatic from these talented ladies!

Enjoy a few sneaks from our Holiday 2014 Sessions!

And just for shits + giggles, a few test shots + outtakes...

I can't believe these are over for another year!

I had a wonderful wonderful time churning out these sessions in spite of my initial cold feet and big belly!  I am so glad I went forward with these and so thankful to everyone who helped make them happen:  To my ever-supportive husband Kevin and assistant Maggie for helping to set-up, to my Mama and Jess for helping mind the kids, and to my lovely clients for your loving support, your exuberance, and the extra flexibility and understanding you have shown me!

What a terrible regret it would have been to not have had so many great moments captured for this Holiday Season.

I am already so very very excited for next year's sessions!

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Christmas 2012 with Lindsaysdiet

It's been a whirlwind of sessions, editing, designing, ordering, eye infections, weird flues and colds since the last post!  I pinkyswear I'll post more sneaks from our Secret Third Day of Holiday Sessions soon but to tide you over, here are the photos from last year's incredible Holiday Session with my Sista-From-Anotha-Mista: Lindsay Elliott!

Postcard 2012

Going through these photos is kind of gouging my heart with a melon scooper.  The older the kids get, the faster the year goes and the less they seem to change... that is until you look back 365 days.  Chloe's hair is 3 almost 4 inches shorter here and she definitely has a little more chub in her cheeks mmm ok all around.  The physical changes with Moses are not as noticeable, but as I have lovingly observed during my nightly motherly rituals, I am blown away by the length and lithe in his 4.5 year old limbs.  SIGH.  Equally as painful is how much younger Kev and I seem in these photos...  that's pretty painful considering I've already been torturing myself with photos of us from when I was pregnant the first time.  AND THIS YEAR I HAVE NO HAIR!

Dearest Lindsay, thank you so much for capturing these photos of my radiant little muffins, my handsome sweetie and my long hair :)  Can't wait to see what we get this year!  DRESS SHOPPING TOMORROW!!!!
