Valentine's Day Countdown

Valentine's Day has snuck up on me once again!  Amazingly I managed to get my two shoots with Moses & Chloe done over the weekend in time to edit and send my print order out for my Mom!  She saw a bunch of the ones I did with Chloe on Friday, but the ones of Moses will definitely be a fun surprise for her.  I had so much fun with both these shoots, going to start composing my blog post tonight!

I Love a Girl in Uniform

My mom came over today.  She came just as I was setting up to do a Valentine's Day shoot with Little C.  It turned out better than I could have imagined and I am losing my mind knowing that I won't be able to post it for another week.  I have had this idea/inspiration planted in my brain for a number of weeks and was very nervous about how my version would translate.  It is perfect.  My mom snuck Chloe into the kids' room to change into a new outfit she had found.  Chloe came out in a tiny little tunic that had me squealing like a pig!

Having been enrolled in Catholic Private Schools, I spent my entire elementary and high school years in a uniform.  I have to say, I am really loving my mom for dressing Chloe in things that I used to wear.  She saved my ballerina leotard  and mouse tutu and ears from when I took ballet at age 4.  Chloe is in love with the tutu and ears and it just melts my heart seeing her so happy.

We started off this little shoot with a little red beret knitted by high school friend, Sally.  Sally lives in Toronto and I only see her every couple of years, but on her last visit she had made this beret with a matching scarf for Chloe and a tin full of cookies for all to share.  Perfect match.

Switched to a Hello Kitty headband to match her Hello Kitty book ...

…aaaaand, well no uniform is complete without a little Blair Waldorf  (for you Caela!).

This was fun.  Really digging the lighting in these photos but really all I can think about is how excited I am for these Valentine's Day ones for next week.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you to everyone who came out!  I have most of the postcards confirmed and ready to order.  We should be able to put them through by tomorrow evening and receive them by the end of next week!  Hope you all had a great time!  Everyone did a great job, especially those with teary little ones!  GREAT TEAM WORK GUYS!   I had a wonderful time catching up with those of you I don't see very often and it was a pleasure to finally meet Rachel and Mike and super smiley Ollie!

Looking forward to our secret third day...

My Little Flower Company

It was another hectic day.  I'll spare you the details.  On our drive back home from Vancouver this morning, I was thinking about all the amazing super moms in my life.  There are a lot.  This post is dedicated to one of those moms and her business partner who have just started up their own flower business: Erin Crowle & Kerstyn Edey of Our Little Flower Company.

They selflessly donated their incredible talents back in August to help raise money for my Change Your Hair, Change A Life Fundraiser.  After seeing the fruits of their passion unfold before my eyes, it was an obvious choice to hire them to help bring this year's Holiday Sessions to life.   I picked up the goods for our very first session this afternoon!

And because you were so sweet to check out these beautiful florals and greens, you also get a sneak peek at today's stunning starlet: Peyton!

We are off to an incredible start with a full weekend ahead!  Keep checking back for more holiday action!

Family Fun

We had a small shoot yesterday, casting photos for a little boy Momo's age.  Decided to take advantage of the set up and do some fun ones with Chloe in her snazzy outfit of the day...

This chick kills me with her crazy dance moves.  She is so easy to photograph with her quirky personality and abundant energy.

I let her try taking photos of me.  I wish I could show you what she looked like with the heavy camera in her tiny little hands, struggling to hold it up/straight/to her face.  This first one was awesome.  I saved her the struggle and put the camera on the tripod so she could take photos a little more easily.

She immediately assumed a very grown up and serious voice telling me "OK, one more.  Go over there.  *Click*  Ok, come look at it... "  After a few norms, she started telling and showing me what kind of silly faces to make, still in her very professional tone of voice.

I found the remote so she and I could take one together.  It was only at this point that Moses ran over from his trains/Legos to have a turn pressing the button.  Chloe, as you can see is not at all impressed with having to share this new "toy".
